Transfer News: VERY LITTLE

With talk of the Arshavin deal falling apart through what can be described as an inflated view of the Russians value. I have said from the start that £15 is plenty for a player who hasn't really proven himself on the world stage.

I am disappointed about things at the moment, I think the club is stuck in a massive rut at the moment. There are fans who will disagree with what I am saying because they remember the worse times. To be honest I couldn't give a damn about these historic blips. We have a manager who is most likely one of the top 10 in the world. but apart from that things are slipping. If one was to look at the transfer dealings over the last couple of seasons we have lost a number of star players.

Whether Arshavin is a star or not it feels like we have lost out because we do not have the firepower in the transfer market. I don't want money to be wasted but I hate to see us pipped for players. I love the building of a young squad but I think its risky, what if these players turn into superstars then go the way of Henry and Hleb? We can't be a feeder club.

As I spend my time trawling rumour websites I get gradually more depressed. all I see is a Hungarian kid for £250,000. Where is the ambition? We have the stadium, training facilities and coaching staff of the best clubs in the world but we have the ambition of Berwick Rangers. With Spurs shelling out about £30m to try and keep themselves in this league we spend nothing on trying to win it.

ON A LIGHTER NOTE

I am proud of our 8 match winning spree, admittedly it hasn't been 7-0 drubbings like when Slavia Prague came to see us but given our match winners being out injured its all good! Just a few months ago I was begging for some 1-nil to the Arsenal and it has come. I like winning but if we could do it in a way that will keep my heart in a safe condition that would be favourable.

RvP what a man, top form keep it up!

Yep thats pretty much what any intelligent Arsenal fan feels like... How else can it not be debt though?

In all fairness I don't think we can ever expect ARsenal to splash out £20-30mill but they have signed at least a player per window for the last few yrs....

Apparently we turned down palacios, yaya and a few other midfielders... now were competing with the likes of Villa over Defour (Rumours), but I can't understand when theres Stephen Mbia... who Wenger enquired about a few months ago and Rennes politely declined... But now he's being sought after by a few teams i.e. Toon Army, Everton merely missed out on him... cause of Eto's warnings lol

But anyway therein lies d rub... we have kids with tots 4 subs... I sounds pretty in 3 yrs but I still think some positions command experience.. i.e. Goalkeeper, not MIDFIELD WHERE DENILSON, EBOUE & DIABY... are playing worse than last year?!?!

Hopefully the more games they waste the better they will play next yr who knows, but there are players out there and surely little 1.2 mill purchases off shitty teams... can't hurt.

Tis tru, only gd point to extract from this league position is that we've had a depleted team/squad/yr.... but sign another few sagna's ... and hopefully we get 3rd. Can you believe we actually haven't got a Defensive midfielder... Why did we choose diaby over diarra if thats not his position?? both r shite... very individual... hopefully diaby comes thru... otherwise snap up sissoko, agger & rosicky cause he will be out of a contract by time he comes bak lol

I really fail to see the real crisis. Do we need someone? No. Would we mind having someone? No. We've put together a string of results with the players we have on hand and that's not good enough for anyone. We cried for draws to turn into 1-0 wins and we've done that and yet we're still complaining. We're not into The Invincibles era, it's not 2003 anymore, but we're getting results. Wenger has a very keen eye and he's spotted more young talent than anyone else I've com across. Players we consider stars now in recent years were scouted by Arsenal long before. He will find someone, if it's not Arshavin it will be someone else. I agree we would like someone in to provide cover to a thin squad but I wouldn't want Wenger to splash out 20M for that person. We're the only independent big four club left. We still have a stadium to pay off without a billionaire shovelling money down our throats. If you ask me, we're doing pretty good all things considered and every team in Europe still cannot really find a bad thing to say about us. Ask any team in the world and I guarantee you they wouldn't consider us pushovers, even with our current lack of personnel. The financial crisis has hit teams hard. Even the almighty Man Utd have to find a new sponsor because it seems AIG cannot afford to renew shirt sponsorship. We rarely have these problems because we've never spent outside our means and have yet to drop out of a CL spot. I would like us to win something big again but what use is that if it puts us into some debt. I surely don't want to end up like Leeds, Parma, Lazio, Roma etc etc who have big histories but have been on the brink of administration.

This is such a daft post.
Stop your whinning and start appreciating what you have.
We've never been able to compete with clubs like ManUnited in the transfer market and Spurs are spending (after initially claiming there'll be little activity in the window) to stay in the league.
Wenger over the years, kept us competing with relatively less resources than our rivals. Noone complained before. Our players are improving and we're currently cultivating a youth policy similar to Bacerlona's. What exactly is your problem. If the supporters are worried about kepping these players at their peaks, then your attitude towards them has to change. Positivity yields positivity. Give them a reason to stay!

There are no Arsenal players that I really am too impressed with right now. Rvp - has no pace, Ade -way to inconsistent, cesc too slight, Bendtner - please, Walcott one dimensional, Diaby no defense like a big turtle, Sagna is the pick of the bunch, but as I said not really bothered to keep any of them. They can all go, they won't be missed. These players ain't ever going to win anything cause they don't fight for the shirt and they don't know what is a true team so they will leave anyway, bye.
