Dont mean to be a stick in the mud...

Right, as we are all aware we thumped Porto. In saying that they didn't pose any problems that we cant cope with. So what I am trying to say is that there was no real challenge.

When we had to defend corners it was easy. I think Umpa Lumpas pose more of an attacking threat from crosses that Porto. Defensively they were pretty weak. we ran all over them. We wasted a number of chances.

Sunderland are going to be a big test. The Porto match achieved nothing at all, all I can see is that we categorically should have won 8 nil. The only real good thing from that match was that we will have built confidence (especially RvP).

There are not many teams who can be slated for winning 4-0 and I hate to do it but I only do it through a positive love of the club. My expectations of Arsenal are admittedly very high but this is only because I have seen what we can achieve but not if we keep making the same mistakes!

Absolutely, the team needs consistency. Though that is probably asking too much. We'll likely win a run of games now only to fall complacent again as the team appears to lack heart and maturity. Another risk of being a young team is that they believe over time they will probably win everything, hence a lack of urgency which leads to occaisonally being taken surprise. It's been said so many times and unfortunately those able to do something about it just haven't. There are very good players out there who could lend a leadership hand to our young squad, but our purist approach to youth is just going to cost us another trophyless year which could have been easily avoided and give us a better chance to win something.
